The Institute of Information Management (IIM) - Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Scheme

As a professional body, the Institute of Information Management encourages its members to undertake continuing professional development activities through the Mandatory Continuing Professional Development scheme at all levels of membership. Although the scheme is only compulsory for Members from the IIM Graduate to Professional Fellowship Grades.

What is CPD?

The IIM Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) scheme is the means by which information management professionals maintain and enhance their knowledge and skills. The world is moving ever faster so on-going MCPD is essential to support RIM professionals in their current role as well as helping them with career progression. MCPD is all about upgrading knowledge, skills and capabilities to remain current, efficient, and compliant with professional, career and membership requirements.

Almost everything that improves your knowledge and skills is considered as CPD. By participating in learning activities, you are contributing towards your Continuing Professional Development. Use IIM Africa MCPD to gain recognition for your learning.

If you see the MCPD logo anywhere on the IIM website or program, this means that the activity counts towards your CPD. CPD hours worth on activities are indicated on programs as announced or advertised.
